Pop Star Sir Elton John accepted a public apology and defamation damages over a newspaper report which said that Elton was behaving very rudely at his Annual Charity Ball.

The report titled 'Rock royals get too grand' appeared in the newspaper last year in June and repeatedly said that he was acting in a self-important, arrogant and rude manner. A newspaper representative said the story was picked out from another newspaper and as they realized that it was untrue, without any delay they apologized to the singer.
