It wasn't actually a war between the two heartthrobs of the tinsel town but was a battle in-between their production companies. Brad's Plan B and Leonardo's Appian Waywere getting eager to get the rights of forthcoming zombie horror book by Max Brooks titled 'World War Z.'

The bidding carried on for almost two days but at the end Plan B emerged as the winner by paying six figure amount that will go up to seven figures if the movie actually gets made. Neither Brad nor Leonardo has any kind of grudges as Leonardo is working for 'The Departed' produced by Plan B.
Max Brooks, who was a writer on 'Saturday Night Live' for two years, penned a book in 2003 named 'Zombie Survival Guide.' The book talked about in deadpan detail how to survive a supposedly impending zombie apocalypse. It struck the bull's eye and became a magnificent hit.
Now Brooks is coming up with another book 'World War Z' that tackles the zombie genre but it is set ten years after great global zombie epidemic.
